Species:
Companion animals such as Canines and Felines.
CPR:
Our team is certified with RECOVER CPR, the only evidence based Veterinary CPR Guidelines. These guidelines were established with the efforts of over 100 veterinary specialists and are continually reviewed to ensure the best practices are in place should your pet require life-saving care.
Raw food:
If your pet is raw fed, please be aware that this brings added risk during surgical recoveries and may incur additional costs related to sanitization. Due to the risk of food borne illness (e-coli, salmonella) associated with raw diets, it is recommended to discontinue raw diets and transition to a cooked diet while your pets incision is healing (approximately 1 week prior and 2 weeks post-op). Switching to a thoroughly cooked diet will greatly reduce the chance of incisional infection that could develop if your pet were to lick their incision during recovery. Additionally, raw fed patients require additional sanitization measures to ensure that bacteria such as those noted above are not transmitted to other patients in hospital, thus additional charges (up to $250) may be incurred for raw fed patients. If you choose to transition your pet to a thoroughly cooked diet, please do so as soon as possible as diet changes can cause symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and other gastro-intestinal upset symptoms.
